Paris(France), Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn room theme? help please.?
My room is painted a Jade green with white borders.
I have a Black bed and a brown night stand, dresser and wardrobe stand but they will be replaced with black soon. I want everything to be black and white all the posters and such.
Above my bed i have a Audrey Hepburn black and white poster and an eiffel tower black and white poster. on one of my walls i have a marilyn monroe poster and on another a marilyn monroe calender.
does anyone have any more ideas on the paris theme. wall decals, BEDDING, and RUGS.
When it comes to a Paris theme – simple and elegant is where it’s at.
Black furniture with black and white accessories is definitely the way to go!
You may want to go with a white or black and white throw rug as well.
It’s great that you already have a black bed. Is it by chance wrought iron? A wrought iron bed with white bedspread or a white one with black trim accented with pillows in different shapes and sizes would be ideal. (They can often be purchased inexpensively at secondhand and thrift shops.)
While jade green walls with white borders is okay and can work nicely with a Paris themed bedroom have you given any thought to plain white walls with a pink or black accent wall? If you decide to stay with jade green walls a silver gray would make a nice accent color.
That said, black, white, and pink remain the most popular color combos for a Paris themed bedroom.
Other ideas include incorporating mirrors of different shapes and sizes and personal black and white photos of you and your friends. You may also want to add some photos or images of other famous places in France. Black frames are the way to go or if you opt to add pink accents, you may want to place your images in pink frames.
Sheer white or black drapes pulled to one side over a white blind is also a nice feature in a Paris themed bedroom.
You may want to consider words like ‘Create’ and ‘Inspire’ for your walls – removable letter and saying decals are inexpensive and can be found in most major decorating and department stores.
Use Paris inspired hat boxes to store jewelry and accessory items. Hang things like feather boas, a string of pearls, and dress or purse sachets on decorative hooks. Small decorative purses and white gloves also make great accent items.
You may want to consider getting a personalized room sign that says “…. Dressing Room”
For lighting, hang a chandelier or purchase a lamp with an eiffel tower base. Another idea would be to tack a string or two of white twinkle lights around the framework of your closet or bedroom door.
