I can’t ask the person who took it because I’m surprising the person and that would give it away.

That’s so romantic! And I would like to help so much, but there is no single clue in the photo.Maybe the person you want to surprise gave some more detail in conservation. For example if there was anything nice in the area, if the metro was close/far, or what these buildings on the other side are. they seem to be quite un-Parisian…

I guess the position to these military baracks is quite the same… It is on the Avenue Duquesne
