Tips to get the best of Paris sightseeing?
Help, in Paris next Wednesday til Saturday evening. Gotta take in the Eiffel tower, a boat ride, Arc de Triumph, a walk down the Champs Elysee, couple of hours at the Louvre, Notra damn, The Sacre Coeur basilica church in Montmatre and perhaps a quick glance at the Molin Rouge too.
Oh, and a full day in Disneyland outside the city as I guess I won’t be able to get there and back tot own to do anything else that day ! Question is, what order should I do these things in order to get some brilliant photos and see the best of Paris at the same time. I imagine the previously mentioned locations are the ”must see” tourist places to visit ?
I am staying at a hotel 5 minutes from Gare du Nord railway station ( looking at a map it seems I could walk it to the Basilica Sacre Coeur, right ? )
We stay in that area of Paris when we visit. It is a gentle walk up to Sacre Coeur. Walk up through Montmartre through Rue des Martyrs and Rue Lepic. There are interesting food shops, flower shops, fish shops, bars and cafes. You also pass by the Moulin Rouge, which is a total tourist trap.I doubt you will see any french people in the queue.There is a marvellous view of Paris from Sacre Coeur. It is good in the evening as well as the day. You can see the Eiffel Tower lit upat night.Place du Tetre is just round the corner – a total tourist area, but interesting to pass through! Close by is Le Lapin Agile. This is an old cabaret, very authentic singing and poetry in french.
Talking of views, you can get to the top of Galleries La Fayette for a great panorama of Paris for free.
You can walk there along Rue La Fayette.
Using the metro, you should be able to do Eiffel tower, Champs Elysee and a boat trip. Consider using the Bateau Bus to combine the Seine and getting around in one.
The Louvre, Mussee D’Orsay and Notre Dam are close to each other.
There is so much to do and see.I strongly suggest you take your time and walk alot.This way you will discover many things you did not now existed! You will not see everything, but you will enjoy it and want to go back!
