A hotel in Paris question!?
Hi there! I have a four page report to write on taking a trip to paris. I got on Expedia.com and they gave me Mercure Paris Suffren Tour Eiffel
with a flight to and from wih a weeks saty for $1,696.
I’ll be honest- I have no idea if thats a good deal or not! All I know is that it has to be within walking distance from the Eiffle tower- if I would get to go to Paris-i would have to be in distance!
Care to help me out?
Would that be a good deal? Do you know of any better?
thanks!
Way too expensive. Last time I was in Paris was about 7 years ago. The flight to and from St. Louis was $400 and the average Parisian hotel would have been about $100 a night if you were in Passy (16th arrondissment of Paris) which is directly across the river from the Eiffel Tower. There are several metro stops within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower, so you could even have the “people” stay a little further away in Ile-de-France (the immediate area that surrounds Paris) and only be 5 mins away by metro. (Note that prices have gone up in Airfare a couple of hundred dollars since then, but hotels should be similar.)
Whenever I travel in Europe though, I usually stay in hostels. They are much safer and cleaner there than American hostels. For those prices, figure $20-40/nigh/person.
